The chaotic Coke experiment
Today, year 6 did the coke and mentos experiment as part of our science topic (chemical reactions). Mrs Stocks put five mentos into the coke so it would react more. When it exploded, Mrs Stocks ran in fear because she thought it was going to go all over her. The coke explosion was nearly as tall as the school. We kept the mentos to see what would happen after a period of time. After ten minutes we could see that mentos were shrinking and started to dissolve. Also, we could see that the gas has escaped out of the bottle the coke didn’t continuously overflow. We enjoyed doing this experiment and loved watching the explode.

Science interventions
Great to see children across KS2 learning science together! This group is designed to give some of our pupils extra practise honing their scientific skills and developing their knowledge.
