School blog news..
Here are a few photographs of the amazing maths work we have been doing this half term. We’ve estimated how many giant steps it takes to get from one side of the playground to the other, worked out how many tens and ones are in two digit numbers, ordered numbers to a hundred, practiced our number bonds, counted in 2s, 5s, 3s and 10s from different numbers and much more. Year 2 have worked so hard since starting in September and they have learnt so many new skills already. We can’t wait for next term!0 Comments
Year one had lots of fun using their maths and sciece skills to make delicous rice crispie cakes.0 Comments
We are loving the book Supertato! The only problem is, the evil pea keeps causing trouble at school. He has thrown potatoes all over the floor and we have had to gather and count them, and he has trapped veggies in the shredded paper! We have been designing and making lots of traps to try to catch him!
We always think and talk about the weather when we come to school. Today we were delighted to explore the force of the wind, making flags and discovering the feel and the sound of the wind’s power.0 Comments
Year 1 are loving their music lesson this year. This week we have been learning a new funky song.
We are so lucky to have not only wonderful school grounds, but a fantastic new kitchen in the EYFS. Today we started the day by harvesting our very own potatoes which have been grown at school. We washed them ourselves, then followed a recipe to boil and mash them, adding other ingredients (weighing and measuring carefully) and mixing well. Our bread smelt fantastic as it baked, and we enjoyed sharing it for our snack the next day. We are farmers and chefs, and a family that cooks and eats together!
We were so excited to welcome Nursery and Reception to school at the start of September! The children enjoyed exploring their environment and the opportunities indoors and outside. We are going to have fun learning together!0 Comments
Year 2 have already had lots of fun finding out about materials this half term. Today we started to make our own crystals and watched how the salt dissolved in the warm water when it was stirred. We used salt, warm water, string, lollypop sticks and lots of spoons for stirring but we have to leave our mixtures over the weekend so hopefully when we come in next week we will see that beautiful colourful crystals have formed!0 Comments
Well it’s been a very emotional morning looking at at the fantastic memories the Year 6 children have built during their time here. It’s safe to say you will be really missed! Here’s the powerpoint for you to keep and remember all your fun times!
We had a great day today on our last trip in Year 2. We went to the Yellow Sub indoor play centre in the morning and then travelled to Otterspool Adventure centre in the afternoon. We had an amazing time with lots of fun, laughter and ice cream! Take a look at our fabulous photos from the day.
