In history, we’ve been looking at crime and punishment throughout history. We’ve studied the Roman period, Anglo Saxon and Vikings, Tudors, Early Modern period and 21st century.
Here are some of our powerpoint videos to show what we have learnt about each period.
Today, doctor Amara Nwosu visited our school and told us about his life and how he became a doctor. He taught us how the digestive system works and what errors could occur in the human body. He let us ask him many questions about medicines and how we can prevent diseases from becoming serious. He told us that if we work really hard, we could be future scientists, doctors and nurses.
Year 6 went to the Catalyst science museum to learn about light (part of our science topic energy). We also got to watch a show called ‘Light Fantastic’ which taught us all about the different types of light like infa red (which shows heat) and UV. We also found out that white light is made up from all the colours of the spectrum.
We are so proud of our amazing children from Years 5 and 6, who performed as part of a special Children in Need choir at the Sefton Park Palm House. The children sang Lean on Me, which they had been rehearsing over the last few weeks…and they sounded incredible! The choir was showcased on North West Tonight (which also featured an interview with Alisha!), before the live performance of choirs around the country as part of the main Children in Need broadcast. The children were wonderfully well behaved and represented our school so well. Some children also met Ben Shires from CBBC’s Absolutely Amazing! More importantly, it was an unforgettable experience for the children and we helped to raise lots of money for Children in Need. Well done, everyone!
Today we went to the cinema to watch the Jungle Book.It was the new film version and we watched it in 3D.It was an amazing opportunity because it was terrific! We all loved the film and loved our morning out.
Year 6 had a great time with Ali Maggs from Chaos Creative Coding. He has made a lot of games for companies like Google and Microsoft. We did coding program like Minceraft hour of code. It was great- thanks Ali!
Have a look at our video from Wednesday’s workshops with Google Expeditions. It was an amazing experience to go exploring the Earth (and body) from the comfort of our school hall. Some of our reactions are priceless!
Here are some more of the pictures from Year 6’s Colomendy trip. We all had a great time and made some fantastic memories!
Some of the pictures are sideways, but if you click on them, they will load the right way around!
Year 6, what was your favourite part of Colomendy?
